Make Money Online During 2009

There are a ton of opportunities for you to make more money online during 2009, will they make you a millionaire, probably not infact definitely not but if your making more cash then its a good thing

What many people are failing to do is take advantage of the several free tools out there that will enable you to get earn extra affiliate cash for very little work.

Let me explain:

Each year there are periods that come up that are an affiliate marketers dream. I’ll list a few here:

1) Valentines Day
2) Easter
3) Graduation Day
4) Halloween
5) Christmas

The problem is that to often than not people online fail to take advantage of these periods. You may think “ok lets throw up a site on valentines day and sell valentine related products”. That is pointless and the chances are will never make you any money.

What you have to look for is specifics within each period. Im going to stick with the valentines day as an example. Let’s drill down here, for valentines day what would people like you and me be looking to buy for our partners:

1) Cards
2) Flowers
3) Chocolates

Now we’re starting to get places but those terms are still very broad and not specific enough. If you do your research correctly you will see a trend in buying patterns for specific valentine presents. (The same goes for halloween (popular kids costume), christmas (popular boys toy). The key is to find whats hot and build a site around it. The site bit comes last, you dont even need to build a site. With the web 2.0 sites you have at your disposal it just aids in making your job a hell of a lot easier. I’ll talk about that later on this post. For now back to finding popular valentines presents.

If your trying to compete for terms like valentines card your not going to get anywhere fast. The key is to drill down, find terms you can compete for and then provide relevant products for that term.

Valentines is slightly different to halloween and christmas because it is harder. Hence the reason im using it as an example. With halloween and christmas there are plenty of “hot” specific items out there that people are looking to buy. (Toys, costumes (spiderman costumes) etc as i mentioned earlier). Valentines requires you to be a little more creative.

What you need to do is find rankable terms that contain buyers. The cards, chocolate,flowers terms all contain buyers but would be near impossible to rank for. That is why we must drill down further and there is a very easy way to do this and that is by using Google Insights.

Now you have a brief idea of how to use Google Insights to research popular and up and coming keywords within your market. Another great resource you can use for your research and is also a free keyword research tool is

Ideally you want to have your one main keyword along with 3 secondary keywords.

Ensure that you have a 1-2 variations of each of them. For example if your keyword
was great valentine gifts then the variation would be great valentine presents.

Now that you have your keywords the next step is to find affiliate programs that can help provide you with the related products that you need to sell.

Once you have joined the affiliate programs have a look around them to find products which best suit what your trying to sell.

For example if your keyword is great valentine gifts then what you could do is set up your page to have The Top 10 Great Valentines Gifts For 2009

Then simply list 10 products with descriptions and direct link to buy.

There are several web 2.0 sites out there you can use in this way. The more you have setup the more chances you have of getting that quality traffic and making sales. Feel free to repeat the proccess for my below top 3 web 2.0 sites

The next step you need to perform is promotional steps and probably the quickest and most effective way, also costs no money is article marketing. You will also want to ping the rss feeds that each web2.0 site provides for you.
